5. Technology & Learning:
PC with Powerpoint and Excel, Edmodo, and Safari
The students will view the Powerpoint that will be delivered via their Edmodo account and then answer questions EggQuiz.com
As a closing activity, they students will research 1 community college, 1 state college and 1 private college and compare the data from each of the colleges. They will then place this data into Excel and create the appropriate chart for that data.
6. Materials, Equipment, Digital Tools & Resources:
Students will need computer access for this class. However, they can access the class on any computer that has internet access (home, library lab, public library lab)
The Powerpoint will be sent to students as a link in Edmodo from a Google Drive account to access due to file size.
The link to the Quiz Egg will be shared at a later date via Edmodo
Prior to this unit students will watch a Screencast tutorial on how to access Edmodo, view documents from their accounts, and turn in work to the teacher.
The students will receive the Excel assignment via their Edmodo account.
7. Prior Knowledge
a. Content - The students will have some pre-conceived ideas about obstacles that prohibit them from getting into college.
b. Technology - The students will be able to navigate in Edmodo to access assignments and turn in documents.
8. Learning Itinerary
Powerpoint
Students will view the Powerpoint. The assignment will work with an Eqq Quiz to ensure the students are watching all the videos and are able to acquire all the information needed. I will be available via Edmodo to assist with any issues or to help work through any questions about the Eqq Quiz.
Students will work individually but can review answers and talk about their experiences via Edmodo.
Excel
Students will be given the assignment via their Edmodo account.
Students will research 1 community college, 1 state college and 1 private college. They will obtain the same data set from each college and then use Excel to create a table with that data and a corresponding chart for each set.

9. Assessment
There will be an Eqq Quiz that will require students to answer a variety of short answer questions while they are working through the activity.
For Excel, they will create a student product will be assessed with a rubric.
The assessment on this task will be the quiz itself. By assessing the answers to their questions (which are created both via product and process), I can tell how well they watched, listened and paid attention to the presentation.
