ReflectionThis was a great tool to allow kids to become more engaged in material. Anytime you can combine words, images, video, audio, etc. into one lesson, the kids become much more interested and you reach all types of learners with one tool.
I had never used Microsoft Word in this way before so it was quite the learning experience. I can see a variety of ways that my students can use Word ... They can introduce themselves like we did in our first lesson, they can brainstorm information on a topic or review a book chapter with images and tools. I look forward to using this in the future to allow creativity via technology meet up with learning.

This assignment really allowed me to pursue the idea of creating a flipped lesson that will work for my classroom. The idea has been with me for some time but the chance to actually create it was very helpful.

This was very helpful in learning how to deliver content in a variety of ways. To be able to look at my curriculum as a whole and choose lessons that will work better with each application really allowed me to make my flipped lessons more engaging.

Chapter 3 Presentation on History of Education

This presentation was created via Powerpoint and was meant to present the History of Education during The Middle Ages
(AD 476-1200). This presentation begins with a lower level of questioning and builds to a higher level as the topics are discussed. The delivery is such that the students do the research to answer each question and then participate in a classroom discussion. This addresses the varied learning needs of students.

What Should I Be When I Grow Up Webquest

This web quest guides students on ideas of what type of career would best suit them based on their day to day interests. It most definitely promotes active learning and it allows teachers to reach all students by using a variety of activities, skills and technologies.

This video was created using Stop Motion Studio Pro on the iPad. Whithin this app, you can take your photos and create the stop motion all in one place! This particular video meets the TEKS for Kindergarten and their need to know shapes and the fact they can be found in their every day life!

This is a multimedia student project that encourages collaboration of students to create a tour of their campus to be delivered to incoming students. This lessons gives students the opportunity to use various types of technology to create one final project. It most definitely promotes active student learning through the integration of technology!

This lesson was a joy to do because it gave me an introduction to Moviemaker while creating a product with one of my favorite songs! I had not used Moviemaker before but it was very intuitive and easy to learn.

Scrapbook on Delicious

I have been looking for a way to keep an ongoing list of websites, images, etc. around certain topics in order to organize my thoughts for future lessons, substitute ideas, etc. Using Delicious makes this dream happen and I will be using it from here on out.

I have often looked for websites where I can create a quiz for my students that would track their results but also be technology based (vs. just creating and printing in) - This Egg Quiz site was just what I needed for this component of my lessons.

The One World Schoolhouse presents a revolutionary way to assist students and allow them to self assess themselves on math skills and a variety of other topics. After reading the book, I immediately implemented Khan Academy into my AVID classroom and was truly impressed by what it had to offer.

Creating the TEASe was very new to me. I had never attempted making or editing any kind of video. This was a challenge for me but it turned out great and is such an awesome tool to introduce students to a new topic.

I now have a great tool in order to know what each letter looks like in each specific font before I choose it. This is perfect document to have at all times!

This powerpoint really allowed me to spend time looking for and better understanding each of the design principles and how they look in different mediums. Again, I now know what to look for when creating my own documents, powerpoints, etc.

I had never used Photoshop before and was surprised to see how creative I could be with it. I often times have pictures that need editing so I was glad to have the opportunity to use some of my own images to practice with and use at a later date.

This one was really fun because I had never used InDesign before either. I love the idea of being able to create truly professional looking documents for my classroom and even for my school as a whole.

I am really glad to have this product to use in future documents. I can put it in a newsletter or even attach it to my email when I am emailing parents about AVID.

I cannot wait to use this with my AVID students. It is always great to have different ways to deliver content to my students and this particular lesson with be a way to engage them in ways I have not done before.

I was kind of wondering if I would learn anything new since I was familiar with many of the concepts and/or applications at the beginning of this exercise! However, as we began to move through the "things", I learned so many new tools that are easily accessible and easily integrated into classrooms of all levels!

This was my first experience with Moviemaker and I really enjoyed creating a video with a song that I love! It was very intuitive and easy to use and it gives a reall professional look with transiitions and effects! I see sharing this type of project with the teachers I work with in a variety of way!

The Iris Center Module on Assistive Technology

I wish learning could be built like this more consistently. I learned so much through this module and truly enjoyed the different aspects that were used for the teaching ... Reading, video, questions, etc. It was engaging and entertaining and all the while, I learned about Assistive Technology and some of the ways that I can be involved in that process.

This portfolio is a collection of lessons that represent 10 different models of teaching that encourage students to construct their own learning and knowledge.

Creating the Treasure Hunt opened my eyes to how many amazing resources and media are available to help me plan and to teach kids about the entire research process. In addition, the tool of a Treasure Hunt for kids is such a great way to integrate technology into their learning.

The research on Culturally Relevant Teaching was extremely enlightening to me. It really allowed me to take a better look at my students and their background in order to assign assignments in different ways.

As part of the Cohort, these discussions were very helpful because they allowed us to give each other feedback in a safe environment. I believe that they would also be helpful when you are doing a distance learning class with peers you do not know or ever meet.

This website allows me to communicate and collaborate with educational stakeholders and is an avenue to "advertise" professional development opportunities to the district.

Integrating Technology in the Classroom via Peer Coaching |
I feel very strongly that the peer coaching process is a positive element that can be implemented at any time, on any campus and in any classroom. Each of the three teachers that I worked with all had a positive experience and felt that it really allowed them to try new things in the classroom because they had the support of someone that could help them work through the process. This paper takes you through that journey!
